The Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams left for England on a charter flight this morning. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tweeted the above information. This is the first time that India’s men’s and women’s cricket teams have left for a joint tour.
Upon arrival in London, both teams will travel to Southampton, where they will remain in quarantine. After completing the quarantine period in Southampton, the men’s team will play the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand from June 18. The women’s team will play its only Test match against England in Bistel from June 16. This is the first Test of the women’s team in seven years. After the Tests, the women’s team will play three ODIs and three Twenty20 matches against England.The women’s team will conclude their tour on July 15, while the men’s team will remain there and play a five-match Test series against England in August-September.
